Sydney Harbour, the Opera House and city skyline
Discover Sydney

Sydney is quite the show

The world's biggest comedy festival, in one of the world's great cities. Harbour mornings, long warm evenings and a stage-door on every second corner. Here is how to make a festival week of it.

Sydney light rail gliding through the city at dusk

Getting around is easy

Sydney is a simple city to move through. Trains and the light rail cover the theatre district, Opal cards tap on and off everything, and the airport line has you in the city in under twenty minutes. Ferries run late from Circular Quay, and most festival venues sit within a short walk of each other in the heart of town.

A food scene worth the trip

Eat your way from Chinatown's late-night dumpling bars to Surry Hills' small rooms and the harbourside dining strips. Sydney does pre-show dinner and post-show snacks better than almost anywhere, with kitchens open late and something within reach of every venue.

Harbour, beaches and the outdoors

Spend the day outside before the laughs start. Walk Bondi to Coogee along the clifftops, take the Manly ferry across the harbour, or swim at an ocean pool. November in Sydney is warm, long and made for being outdoors.

Sydney city lights and nightlife after dark

After the show

The night does not end when the curtain drops. Rooftop bars, the laneways around York and Clarence streets, and live rooms across the inner city keep going late. Ask the venue staff where they drink, they always know.
